Terms of service

Last updated: October 9, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and The Open Apps, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("we", "us"), for the Penround plugin in ChatGPT, the website penround.ambientapp.ai, the cards made there and the keepsake books we sell. By using Penround, signing a card or placing an order you accept these terms. Our privacy policy explains how we handle data.

1. What Penround does

Penround makes group cards. An organizer starts a card in ChatGPT and shares a sign link. Anyone with the link can leave a message and a photo; they don't need an account. The organizer approves each message, and the card goes to the recipient by email or as a link at the time the organizer chooses. The approved messages can also be printed as a hardcover keepsake book, which our printing partner, Lulu, prints and ships.

OpenAI provides ChatGPT and is not a party to these terms.

2. Who can use Penround

You must be at least 13 years old to sign a card or use Penround. You must be 18 or older, or have a parent's or guardian's permission, to order a book.

3. Messages and photos

  • You keep the rights to what you write and the photos you add.
  • You give us permission to store, process, display and print them, and to send them to the partners in our privacy policy, only to run the card and make the book.
  • If you sign a card, you agree that the organizer and the recipient will see your message, that it may be printed in a keepsake book, and that you have the right to share any photo you add, with the agreement of anyone in it.
  • Don't add anything unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, violent, or anything that shares someone's private information without consent. Messages with offensive words are refused, and our checks hold messages and photos that may break these rules until the organizer reviews them. Sexual content, graphic violence and self-harm instructions are blocked outright and can't be approved.
  • The organizer decides what appears on the card and is responsible for approving it. The recipient can report any message; a report from the recipient hides it at once. We may remove content or close a card that breaks these rules, and we report child sexual abuse material to the authorities.

4. Card delivery

We send the card at the time the organizer chooses, in the time zone shown, usually within a minute. Email delivery depends on the recipient's mail provider; if an email bounces, the organizer is told and can fix the address. We email the recipient only the card itself, never marketing, and anyone can ask us never to email them a card again.

5. Keepsake books: prices and payment

Book prices are shown before you pay and include standard shipping. During a holiday offer, the checkout page shows the offer, who it applies to and when it ends; you pay the price on the checkout page, which for the same copies and shipping is never more than the price shown in ChatGPT. Payment is taken on our website by Stripe. Sales tax may be added where it applies. The book contains the messages approved when the order is placed.

6. Printing, shipping and returns

Printing starts within 2 hours of payment, so the order can be changed or canceled only before then. Each book is personalised, so we can't take returns for a change of mind. If a book arrives damaged or misprinted, send us a photo within 30 days and we will print a new copy free or refund it. Delivery dates are estimates from the printer and carrier. If an order can't ship in the time shown at checkout, we will email the buyer before then with a new date and the choice to cancel for a full refund, even after printing has started.

7. The service

We work to keep Penround available but can't promise it will always be. We may change or stop features; if we stop the service we will give organizers notice and a way to keep their cards' messages. We are not responsible for what signers write, though we act on reports.

8. Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about Penround is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 if you paid nothing. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, except where your local consumer law requires otherwise.
