How to make an end-of-year teacher card signed by the whole class
Have one parent start an online card, share the link in the class parent group, and ask each family to sign together with their child, then send it on the last day of school. With Penround in ChatGPT, parents sign from any browser without an account, the organizer approves every message, and the messages can be printed as a hardcover keepsake for the teacher.
Step by step
- One parent organizes. Usually the class parent. Start the card about two weeks before the last day.
- Share in the parent group. Post the link in the class WhatsApp, email list or school app. ChatGPT can draft the message for you.
- Families sign together. Parents sign on behalf of the family, with the child’s words. Signers confirm they are 13 or older.
- Add a drawing. A photo of a drawing the child made is a lovely page, and keeps children’s faces out of it.
- Approve and deliver. Approve each message, then schedule the card for the last morning of school or send the link yourself.
- Add the book if you like. The printed book takes about 12 to 13 business days in the US, so order it two to three weeks before the last day.
Ways to do it, compared
| Paper card sent home in backpacks | Thread in the parents’ group chat | Group-card sites with gift collection (for example GroupTogether) | Penround in ChatGPT | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Every family can add a message | If the card reaches every backpack in time | Yes, but messages stay in the chat | Yes | Yes |
| Children’s drawings | Drawn inside | As photos | As photos | One photo per message |
| Collects money for a gift card | No | Separately | Yes | No; collect it separately |
| Organizer approves each message | No | No | Depends on the site | Yes |
| Something the teacher keeps | The card | Screenshots | Varies; some print | The card page, plus an optional hardcover book |
When something else fits better
If the class is also pooling money for a gift card, a site that collects payments does both at once. Penround doesn’t collect money, so collect it separately and mention the gift in the card.
Use Penround in ChatGPT
In ChatGPT, open Plugins, search for Penround and add it, or mention Penround in a chat. Then ask, for example:
- “Start a thank-you card from the class parents for Ms. Lee before winter break”
- “Draft a short message for the class parents’ WhatsApp group with the sign link”
- “Can I get these messages as a printed book?”

Signers confirm they are 13 or older, so for a younger class the parents sign for the family, with the child’s words or a photo of a drawing.
Does it collect money for a gift card?
No. Collect money separately and mention the gift in your note on the card.
Do parents need an account?
No. They open the link in any browser.
Does it work for a winter-break card too?
Yes. Schedule it for the last day before the break, in the teacher’s time zone.
